On October 29, this year, an event was held dedicated to the presentation of the national contest "Gender Tenglik Faoli" (Activist for gender Equality), organized by the Commission for Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry for the Support of the Mahalla and the Family.
It was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of ministries and departments, the United Nations Population Fund, the International Labour Organization, and the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan.
According to the organizers, the main goal of the contest is to draw public attention to the issue of achieving gender equality in our country, to bring work in this direction to a qualitatively new level.
According to the terms of the competition, the participants will be ministries, departments, non-governmental organizations that have achieved high results in the field of gender equality this year, take initiatives for the development of society, protect women's rights and perform relevant tasks.
The competition is aimed at forming a gender equality policy in each ministry, department and organization in the country, introducing gender approaches in the activities of ministries and departments, as well as identifying, summarizing and promoting the best practices of state and non-governmental organizations.
During the event, issues related to the organization of this competition were also discussed. Based on the participants ' opinions on the terms of the competition, the appointment of the jury members, the criteria for the selection of participants and the award ceremony, plans for the future were determined.
